I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I started designing my own personal websites when I was in high school. I taught myself the basics of Photoshop and HTML and went from there.
I moved to Chicago to attend Columbia College Chicago originally as a Fashion Design major. When faced with the thought of actually having to sew things I switched to Graphic Design and it turned out to be the right choice.
Within a week of graduating from Columbia I had an interview with Jasculca-Termin and Associates, a PR/event management/creative services firm, as an intern. It was a crash course in the professional side of graphic design. I worked with printers, account managers, clients, art directors and other graphic designers on major campaigns. I was only there a short time but I learned a lot.
Three months into my internship I got a job with Backcountry.com. It was a great opportunity to work in the snowboard industry, which had been a goal of mine when I graduated college. I was hired as a Production Artist and within 5 months was promoted to Graphic Designer. A little over a year after that I was promoted to Art Director.
Now, I am living in San Francisco and working as a Senior Art Director at Sam’s Club.
